A roaring sea, a rough beach, great people, industry, raw, real and no bullshit, that's how I experience my hometown IJmuiden every day. I can see the sea from my home, so it's not so weird to imagine that when I cleaned up the MDF scraps in a garbage bag after a project, I suddenly saw waves in them. And just as I often go to the pier to get a breath of fresh air and think, and then stare endlessly at the water hoping to see a seal or lion or dolphin (ok, porpoise) for just a moment, this time too, it suddenly appeared; a cute face, not among the waves, but among the scraps. He was allowed to stay.
