I learned that the best way to avoid heartbreak is to make the heart resilient, so that when you get hurt, it doesn’t break; it bounces. That’s why this interactive art piece invites visitors to pull out one of the 8 knives displaying the worst things people ever said to me. And stick them back in the heart where they want. The fluffy, pink, sweet-looking heart, lights up from the inside on the places where the knives are being put, emphasizing the two wonderful true cliches of ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ and ‘let the light through the cracks’. 💕🔪
